Bulang Mountain is one of Pu'er's most storied origins, known among collectors for its intensity. This cake is picked from old-growth arbor trees on the mountain's higher slopes, processed by the traditional method and left unfermented for long-term aging.
Powerful and bittersweet in youth, with a heavy mouthfeel and pronounced qi; the initial bitterness resolves quickly into a strong, long-lasting sweetness (huigan) that Bulang is famous for.
Recommended: 5g leaf per 100ml water, rinsed once, then steeped gongfu-style at 95–100°C starting at 8–10 seconds — slightly shorter than milder origins given its strength.
